As Charles and Dale discovered in this week’s episode of Selling Houses Australia, sometimes location isn’t everything, with their multimillion-dollar home in the prestige Sydney suburb of Pymble sitting on the market for over a year.

The challenge
Everything about this 100-year old home was a huge problem, with a rabbit warren of small rooms, jungle garden and outdated interior. Shaynna, Charlie and Andrew had to pull out all the stops to bring this Pymble palace up to scratch.

Goodbye walls, hello harmonious living
Shaynna went to work knocking down walls in the kitchen, living room, bathroom and master suite to create a stunning open plan living space.

Both the timber kitchen and dated living room were transformed into one amazing space with new timber flooring, fresh white cabinetry and statement lighting. Using our Esther pendant in both areas was a master stroke as it created a seamless, cohesive look. Shaynna also used this technique in the dining and rumpus rooms, with a set of matching Saville pendants over the dining table, bench seating and pool table.

First impressions are everything
The original hallway was busy and horribly dated. New flooring and our stunning Saville pendant set the mood for the newly designed contemporary interior.

Bathing a bathroom in light
A clean white palette made this bathroom feel much bigger and brighter. Our Aksel pendants over the bath created a spa-like space.

Suite dreams
Andrew described the revamped master suite as ingenious and we have to agree. Our Iris table lamps brought the glamour and perfectly complemented the freshly painted white walls.

A study in simplicity
The cool Scandi palette gave this small study a sense of being big. The linear style of our LEDlux Scanlon table lamp added to the contemporary, uncluttered feel.
